Dr. Ron Pavkovich is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy. The AAOMPT is the premier association in America that promotes advanced orthopedic manual therapy techniques, and as such requires strenuous evidenced-based training to provide healthcare professionals with the skills to achieve fast and positive outcomes for patients.

He is among the most elite manual therapy-based PT’s in the country by having this advanced training. Dr. Pavkovich specializes in evidenced-based exercise and manual therapy interventions in his family-owned clinic in Lexington, KY, and employs the manual therapy skills obtained through his extensive training to allow him to provide the best in therapeutic care.

Dr. Pavkovich was appointed to the Kentucky State Board of Physical Therapy by Gov. Matt Bevin in January 2018, and was considered the “go-to” for dry needling based questions for which the Board was consulted during his tenure there. From this position, he was asked to be on the Federal State Board of Physical Therapy’s 2020 taskforce on dry needling and contributed with a host of exceptional clinicians to further the clarification and direction of dry needling for Physical Therapists. Dr. Pavkovich was a senior Fellowship faculty instructor in Dry Needling and Differential Diagnosis for one of the largest Orthopedic Manual Therapy Fellowships in the nations for several years for one of the largest Fellowship companies in the nation. He has lectured, trained, and certified providers, including MD, PA-C, DC, Acupuncturists, and PT in the civilian realm and for the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment and US Army Rangers for the military’s Special Operations command in dry needling and joint mobilization techniques across the nation. Dr. Pavkovich has published and co-authored four case reports/ series and interventional papers in in peer-reviewed journals in on the topic of dry needling for various conditions and has been a peer reviewer for the International Journal of Sports Physical Therapy.

Dr. Pavkovich is trained in performing, interpreting, and reporting on musculoskeletal ultrasound imaging (MSKUS) of the spine and extremities , which has given him the unique ability to image various painful conditions in house with dry needing to look deep at needle placement for safety development, which translates into his course teachings. Dr. Pavkovich and his wife own Advantage Orthopedic Performance & Training in Lexington, KY.
